Cardiology department

As a specialist cardiology clinic, we treat patients with diseases of the heart or large vessels with all degrees of severity.

Beside the treatment  of  acquired heart diseases in dogs and cats, the focus is on the examination and care of young animals and animals with congenital heart diseases, as well as patients with cardiac arrhythmias that require pacemaker therapy. Together with our surgical colleagues, we perform around 100 operations on the heart or large vessels every year. For this purpose we are active as a referral clinic for cardiological practices in East Germany and partly beyond.

Our team consists of colleagues with many years of clinical experience in small animal cardiology.

As a specialist cardiology clinic, we are licensed to provide further training for veterinarians in small animal cardiology (residency) with the aim of becoming an international clinical specialist (Diplomate) and for the additional German qualification in cardiology.
